An important component of our lab mission is to motivate young students interest and participation in engineering and science.
Our lab participates in the Joves i Ciència program by hosting high-school student to perform a research program during the summer months. This way students get real-world training in science and research. So far, we have hosted three students: Gemma Prunés in 2011, Alan Ordoño in 2012, and Ferran Porté in 2013.
We have also participated in several other outreach activities, such as the “Science Day at schools” in 2013, Darwin Day in Valencia and Cuernavaca (México) in 2015, PRBB open day in 2015 and 2016, cafè científics 2016.
We also participated in the Barcelona International Youth Science Challenge (BIYSC-2016) with the project “Uncovering the hidden diversity of the oceans“, lead by David López, Xavier Grau and Núria Ros.
Moreover, we have hosted graduate students from different universities, such as Universitat de Vic or Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, on summer stages.
